Serve Your Profession
Would you like to serve on the College Council? Or do you have a colleague you'd like to nominate?
Nominations for the 23 elected positions on the College Council close December 9.
Download your nomination form today.
A new College Council will be elected in early 2012. If you are a member in good standing with the College, you are eligible to serve on Council as a representative of the region or school system in which you are a member.
Step forward. Serve your profession. Run. Nominate a colleague.
As soon as we receive your nomination package, we will send you an acknowledgement.
Within five business days of that acknowledgement, the College Registrar will send you a response indicating if you meet the requirements for candidacy.
If you have sent your nomination package and have not heard from us, please call the election hotline immediately at 416-961-8800 or toll-free in Ontario at 1-888-534-2222 ext 559.

Paying Your Annual Membership Fee
Do you pay your annual membership fee directly to the College? If so, we will activate our online payment system for 2012 on December 9.
The annual membership fee is due January 1. If your fee is not paid by April 15, you will no longer be a member in good standing and will not be able to teach in a publicly funded school in Ontario.
If you work for a publicly funded school board, your fee is likely deducted from your paycheque. If you're not sure, check with your HR department.
For payment options and more information, visit www.oct.ca.

Member Discounts
Don't leave home without your OCT card this holiday season. Save on your holiday shopping and take in attractions at discounted prices.
Your OCT card is packed with savings on accommodations, theatres, museums, sporting events, computers, books, jewellery and much more. Check out the list of organizations offering free admission and discounts across Ontario on the College web site.
Remember the key to receiving your discounts is to present your card. No card, no discount. Without seeing a valid OCT card, providers can't determine who is entitled to the special offers. To claim a discount by phone, mention that you are an Ontario Certified Teacher with a membership card.
